For the first piece of work we produced for the studio, we wanted to immediately place Spike Print in the wide world of art. We used a line spoken by Jeff Koons on the front, and moved all the essential information about the studio into a central focal point, helped by the unusual format and folding of the leaflet. The linocutters on the back were inspired by a series of photos Walker Evans took of common tools for Fortune Magazine. The leaflet was then printed in two spot colours, a small nod to printmaking.

Impact is an international print conference in its tenth year. We were asked by the University of the West of England (where Impact originated and returns to this anniversary year) to produce the 150 page delegate pack to include schedules, paper abstracts, panel overviews, maps and further information.
We also designed and screenprinted the front cover which is a play (straight steal) on Robert Rauschenberg’s Automobile Tire Print, fitting for a print conference but doubly so because of Impact’s 10th year ‘homecoming.’

The Initiative asked us to design this forty page document which was then sent to every current Member of Parliament, as well as a large number of senior educationalists across England.

Graham Rivers contacted us to produce some printed matter he could leave behind with clients after a pitch. We had a few days to complete this A5 folded brochure promoting Graham Rivers’ long, excellent history in designing educational facilities.
